Shipping Arrival Checklist
Use this list as a sequence — before ship day, on ship day, and at unboxing. Don't improvise on the day-of.
Before Ship Day: Enclosure fully assembled, lights on timer, basking temp verified at branch. Hydration system tested for a full week — automatic mister cycles running, drainage handled. Feeders and supplements on hand. Delivery method confirmed (home delivery vs FedEx hub-hold). Live arrival policy read; check-in process understood.
On Ship Day: Be available for tracking updates. Pick up at the FedEx Ship Center early when using hub-hold; don't let the package sit. Take the package directly inside to a room-temperature space.
At Unboxing: Open carefully in a calm, low-traffic room. Photograph/video anything unusual BEFORE disturbing it. Transfer the animal calmly to the pre-set-up enclosure with dim ambient light. Mist the foliage so the animal can drink. Leave the animal alone for the rest of the day — no handling, minimal observation. Complete the live arrival check-in within the window stated in the policy.
For any health concern, consult a qualified reptile veterinarian. Husbandry guidance is not medical advice.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long until my chameleon settles in?
Plan on at least a week of low-disturbance settling. Some animals start eating within a day; others take longer. Don't panic-handle.
Should I weigh my chameleon on arrival?
Establishing a baseline weight in the first week is helpful, but only if you can do it without significant stress. Don't force it on day one.
When should I contact a vet?
Any persistent issue — closed eyes during the day, refusal to eat or drink over multiple days, lethargy, sunken eyes, abnormal stools — warrants a qualified reptile vet visit.
